Moated castle Millen

This castle - first named in 1365 and originally surrounded by a moat, hence the name moated castle - is one of the tourism landmarks of Riemst. 

Inside you'll find a visitor centre that focusses on the theme of ‘Fortresses and Fortifications in the Meuse-Rhine euros Region'. At the local museum, you can dive into the daily life of the landed gentry at the end of the 16th, early 17th century.

The moated castle is located along the Limburg cycle route network. It is also the starting point for the walking route ‘Hidden beauty in Millen’.

Today, the moated castle houses a brasserie with a spacious terrace where you take your pick from an extensive menu or just relax with a drink.

Opening hours brasserie: from 11.30 a.m. to midnight.  Closed on Tuesday and Wednesday.
